Tips for better practice sheets
- Start with the child's own name — it's the word they're most motivated to write.
- Keep it to 3–5 rows of one word before switching; short words (up to about 8 letters) fit the page best.
- Print at 100% scale on A4 or Letter so the guide lines keep their proportions.
- Slide the sheet into a plastic sleeve and use a dry-erase marker — the same sheet practices all week.
- Pick the Bubble style when you want the sheet to double as a coloring page after tracing.
Frequently asked questions
What paper size should I print on?+
The sheet is designed for standard A4 or US Letter at 100% print scale — no shrinking or 'fit to page' needed. The generator fits your word to the page width automatically, so longer names simply come out in a slightly smaller hand.
Can I save the worksheet as a PDF?+
Yes. Click Print worksheet, then choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination in your browser's print dialog instead of a physical printer. You can also download a PNG image if you'd rather insert it into a document or slide.
Which lettering styles are available?+
