Lengths are Unicode code points: a styled letter is 1, but strikethrough and underline add an invisible mark to every letter, so they cost 2. TikTok doesn't say how it counts, so this is the cautious count.

Where styled text shows on TikTok
TikTok treats styled letters as ordinary text, so they show wherever you can type, except where its rules ask for plain characters.

Many creators use styled letters in their name. TikTok doesn't list which characters names accept, only that they must follow the Community Guidelines, fit in 30 characters and change at most once every 7 days, so check the style before you save.

TikTok's on-video text tool has its own font choices. Pasted styled letters usually show, but some styles lose their look when the tool's font is applied.

A hashtag in styled letters is a different tag, and search matches plain letters, so keep tags and keywords plain.

Usernames can only contain letters, numbers, underscores and periods, 2 to 24 characters, so styled letters are refused.

How do I get a different font on my TikTok name?+
Type your name in the generator, tap a style to copy it, then go to Profile, Edit profile, Name, and paste. TikTok lets you change your name once every 7 days, so pick carefully. The fit checker on this page shows which styles fit the 30-character name limit.
What is TikTok's bio character limit?+
TikTok's Help Center says bios can't exceed 80 characters (checked Nov 6, 2026). That's short, so a styled bio works best as one line with a style and the rest plain.
Why won't TikTok save my styled name?+
The two usual reasons are length and the name rules. Strikethrough and underline styles add a hidden mark to every letter, which can push a name over 30 characters even though it looks short. Names also have to meet TikTok's Community Guidelines.
Can I use fancy fonts in my TikTok username?+
No. Your @username can only use letters, numbers, underscores and periods, and can't end in a period. Use styled letters in your name (the bold line above your @username) instead.
Do TikTok fonts work in comments?+
Yes. Copy a style and paste it into a comment like any other text. Everyone with a modern phone will see it, though a very old phone may show rare styles as boxes.
Can screen readers read TikTok fonts?+
Poorly. Screen readers often read styled letters one by one or name them as symbols, so a styled name may be announced as gibberish. If accessibility matters to your audience, style a single word and keep the rest plain.
